Entertaining remake of the 1985 vampire flick of the same name. Young up-and-comer Anton Yelchin takes the lead as high-school student Charley Brewster who, after a series of strange goings on, including the disapearances of several classmates, becomes convinced that his new neighbour is a creature of the night. That neighbour just happens to be Jerry Dandridge (Colin Farrell) and soon Charley has a fight on his hands to stop Jerry from charming his way into his mum's affections and making a meal of her. This is pretty standard fare, bu the cast seem to be enjoying themselves and the script provides enough wit to keep viewers happy. It isn't particularly scary though - the most menacing thing in it is the wig worn by former Dr Who David Tennant, who is superb as a Las Vegas magician. Also starring Toni Collette and Imogen Poots. 4/5. d;-)

One of the first horror films I ever saw was the original fright night, making a remake for me exciting but would never live up to the original. However, it is different enough from the original to make it a great watch. Colin Farrell one of the sexiest vampires ever and Dr Who as the vampire hunter sexy as hell. Brilliant.

Fright Night is a refreshing change from the normal vampire movies
no one person believes in vampires especialy about the guy next door. The effects are brilliant and continuety is at its best.
David Tennant puts the five star into the film. Im sure it will make you jump gasp and laugh. A very enjoyable film.
Anton Yelchin and Colin Farrell are brilliant together. Some beautiful girls, and dumb guys make the film funny. The sound track is brilliant, great music worth every penny; entertainment at its best.

never expected anything from this film even put off watching it for a while, boy was that a mistake. I really enjoyed this film it's not particually scary but it is funny and has alot of charm to it harking back to 80's horrors.
I'm not a Colin Farrell fan but i thought he was brilliant in this along with David Tennant almost stealing the show

Absolute nonsense. Turned it off after 25 minutes. Atrocious acting, wooden characters, a total predictable cliche of a storyline. Don't bother. Shame on you Colin Farrell.

  Excellent remake

Excellent remake of the 80's original. Not normally a big fan of re-makes but this gets it spot on, keeping the humour of the original but with the advantage of modern techniques to give it a really good horror look and feel. The casting is superb, Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell, Toni Collette and Imogen Poots all outstanding but David Tennant steals the show with a great performance, at first he's unrecognisable. A very strong horror film with plenty of good one liners - it wont disappoint. Enjoy

I watched this last night, and from start to finish a very enjoyable film! I loved the original one and kept comparing it to it, they did a fantastic job, and Colin Farrell is perfect for the part!! Watch out for Chris Sarandons cameo when he crashes into the back of the car!!

  VERY GOOD!

  enjoyable vampire romp

its been 25 yrs since the original and ive got to say this is a very enjoyable vampire romp with a great cast of farrell/tennant who were made for there roles as jerry dandridge and peter vincent.i still prefer the original and i will tell you why.most of todays films especially horror tend to use as much cgi effects as possible and im afraid this film goes a little bit over the top with cgi/visual effects.the original is well outdated now but only used some visual effects and all the gore effects were from makeup.in the remake apart from the close up neck bites everything else was cgi and the car chase scene was laughable because it was such obvious visual effect but saying all that its still a very good film and i really enjoyed it

This movie is actually quite a gem of horror vampire remake, I was not expecting much of this movie but was pleasantly surprised to find it is brilliant, the story is quite different from the original in certain ways but still keeps most similarities, its a fun story thats well paced and has plenty of good action and very good performances from Colin Farell and David Tennant, its not mega gory or anything but does have its dose of blood and cool vampire effects, worth checking out for sure, great movie!!
