John Murdoch (Rufus Sewell) awakens alone in a strange hotel to find he is wanted for a series of brutal murders. His memories have vanished and even his beautiful wife, Emma (Jennifer Connelly) has become estranged from him. So begins a quest to unravel the mysteries of his pact; a quest that will take him into a fiendish underworld where he is relentlessly pursued by the police and a gang of shadow-like beings known as the Strangers and where only the sinister Doctor Schreber (Keifer Sutherland) is able to help him.

Alex Proyas' follow-up to 'The Crow' is an underrated sci-fi gem.
Great visuals and a cracking cast. Hurt knocks it out the park with ease. Connelly is great too.
Stylish sc-fi

Both films Matrix and dark city have allot of similarities if you look closely but also have there unique story of there own. Dark city came out a year before the Matrix so if any film got its influence from one another it was The Matrix. Dark city is a very dark and stylish sc-fi film. It hasn't got allot of action but its defiantly worth watching and great visuals.
