In The Name Of The King is a thrilling action adventure adapted from the cult computer game Dungeon Siege.

Starring action superstar Jason Statham, and directed by the iconic Uwe Boll, In The Name Of The King is a breathtaking action adventure full of treachery, magic and incredible battle scenes, set against some of the most awe-inspiring vistas ever captured on film.

A simple farmer (Jason Statham) is forced to take up arms after evil tyrant Gallian (Ray Liotta) unleashes a bloodthirsty army that ravages his village and ensnares his family. As the marauding forces begin to overrun the country in an effort to crush top the noble King Konreid (Burt Reynolds), the once peace-loving Farmer is forced to rise and fight for all he loves and lives for. With a band of skilled and trusted warriors, he embarks on a journey into uncharted territory on a perilous rescue mission to destroy Gallian's brutal reign of terror once and for all.

Featuring an all star cast, including Ron Perlman (Hellboy), John Rhys-Davies (Lord Of The Rings) and Leelee Sobieski (Eyes Wide Shut) and containing colossal action sequences created by the world-renowned choreographer of Hero and House Of The Flying Daggers, In The Name Of The King delivers the most thrilling spectacle you could possibly imagine.

This movie is one of the best director uwe boll has made, it has an all star cast with brilliant performances from all of them especially hard man Jason Statham as the cool lead as usual, its got a great story full of magic and battles! Director Uwe boll gets too much flak from people on the internet, I think he's brilliant and this film sure proves it. It maybe a tad more lower budget than your usual blockbuster but it proves you dont need a lot to make an entertaining film!!

I usually LOVE films with Jason Statham in (for the obvious reasons) but this film is just so bad! it's storyline is unimaginative and the acting is pretty naff too.
Sorry Jason but i sent this to the charity shop....

How did the #1 reviewer get their title?

It took me 5 tries at watching this film.
Sure it has an all-star cast, but every single role is terrible and laughable, the acting is poor. It's almost as if the actors haven't read the script and stop every scene to read it! no flow whatsoever
The costumes are even worse, helmets clearly made of injection moulded plastic with little attempt to prove otherwise.

The action is awful, no choreography and Jason Statham seems to want to kick everyone to death, but unconvincingbly unlike Chuck Norris!
Not forgetting his random Boomerang which seems to be able to kill 6 monsters in a row.

It's a 15 yet there is no actual violence, swearing, sex or anything like that.

Just....avoid. Unless drunk, in which case, still avoid unless you're that bored!

 'Poor, poor film'

Sorry to disagree with the previous reviewer but I found 'In the name of the King' genuinely one of the worst films I have ever seen. Normally a Statham fan (amongst others in the cast), the phrase 'miscast' has never been better used as he treats this lord of the rings esc film like any of his previous efforts (crank, transporter etc), period acting clearly not his fortay!
On the flip side if you watch this expecting it to be a ridiculous romp with random acts of violence and no plot to speak of you may just have a good time watching it.
