Brilliant movie .great action and a great twist to the story
Typical Mark Wahlberg Film. Theres some good action and its entertaining and tense despite some some slightly dubious moments. Overall worth a watch!
Mark Wahlberg is a great leader for the cast of the film. When I bought this i thought it wasn't going to be a film that wouldn't even interest me in the slightest, but when it came to the end, it felt like a long hour and 3 quarters. But I felt quite surprised and elated I was after I watched it, got to be in the mood for a good actioner to watch it though to follow the plot, but it was a great film and acting too.
nothing new in this film but some good casting gives it an edge, mark wahlberg gives his usual committed performance and is well supported by a strong cast including ben foster and giovanni ribisi. wahlbergs brother is in trouble with some hoods and needs money fast, well just so happens that wahlberg was a former money launderer an smuggler so he soon on one last job. film moves at good pace with twist an turn and its kept tight an edgy,. well worth a watch.
Mark Wahlberg adds another remake to his CV. Contraband is directed by Baltersa Kormakur who also produced and starred in the original version Euro-thriller original called Reykjavik-Rotterdam. Wahlberg's a former smuggler coaxed into one last job, which goes predictably awry ( and at time rather implausable as who could rob an armoured truck while waiting for their ferry connection?). But the film is very well acted with stand out turns from Ben Foster and a very seedy Giovanni Ribisi. The film has plenty of tension and some excellent action sequences that lead al the way to a very tense climax that features the worlds loudest mobile phone ( I don't know about you but sometimes I cannot hear my mobile going off in my pocket, never mind hear one over industrial machinary?) It's no classic and nothing new, but with Contraband is a well directed and very enjoyable thriller that leads to a good evenings entertainment.
