Highlight for me was the cast. Great acting all round, but the winners for me were Michelle Williams, as her take on Marilyn is both brave and brilliant and also Eddie Redmayne, who is wonderful as the innocent but charming Colin. Well worth a watch.
A thoroughly well made and presented film, spot on with accuracy of the period. Marilyn was such a character and made the film. I am temped to get the Prince and the Showgirl as I have never seen it. Top marks.
Having waited over two years for this to be released in cinemas, I had high expectations. I was not let down. This film is beautifully scripted, directed and filmed and the acting is faultless. Michelle Williams is captivating as Ms Monroe, and surely deserves an Oscar for her performance. She obviously spent a lot of time researching this role. The supporting actors are brilliant too. To hardcore Marilyn fans, this is a delight. To those who do not know so much about her life and work, this film serves as an overview at a particular time in Marilyn's life and hints at other aspects of her professional and personal life at the time. Despite what may have become a melancholy film, there is humour throughout for good measure. A must have.
Wonderful film based on Colin Clarks two diaries...Michelle Williams is breathtaking, almost spooky at times to look at her & yet hear & see Marilyn. But this is no parody or copycat mimic, this is a beautiful, intuitive & haunting portrait at Marilyn at her most vulnerable, just before she starts filming Some Like It Hot. Treat yourself to this gem...no great Shakesperean Branagh & co British tour de force, but a gem nevertheless, Marilyn would have loved it!
*A film based on the books by Colin Clark and the time he spent working with Marilyn. Colin leaves home to pursue a career in Television and Film and his persistence earns him a job with a film company. One of his jobs is working on a film set with Marilyn Monroe.
*Due to having no real knowledge of Marilyn Monroe I decided to give this a watch. It provided a valuable insight to one of the most iconic figures in show business. Im sure if you look deeper there will be a few question raised about the subject and the account given. However, its quite a charming and well made film that works well. It also reminded me quite a lot of The Kings Speech.
