A VERY good tv show!!
Think of it as a French version of 'The Shield'. Not as fast paced as the American show but there are striking similarities, not least in the camera work. The team dynamics are similar, and there are similarities in the peripheral characters as well. If you liked The Shield then this is for you!!
It is fully subtitled but I didnt find this at all off-putting.
Dont get much time for tv but other box sets I've enjoyed include The Wire (excellent 5*), The Shield (excellent 5*), The Unit (good 3/4*), Band of Brothers (excellent 5*).
Highly recommend watching Braquo!
I have been waiting for a series of this calibre since The Sopranos finished, a lot of people suggested The Wire.......not bad but not even close. Braquo however( still not Soprano level but what will be?) is really up there, a real breath of fresh air, really enjoyable from the get go to the last episode ( of this first series). This bar has been set very high for future cop shows. Cant wait to see more of Marchals work.
