The director and writer/star of Forgetting Sarah Marshall reteam for the irreverent comedy The Five-Year Engagement. Beginning where most romantic comedies end, the new film from director Nicholas Stoller, producer Judd Apatow (Knocked Up, The 40-Year-Old Virgin) and Rodney Rothman (Get Him to the Greek) looks at what happens when an engaged couple, Jason Segel and Emily Blunt, keeps getting tripped up on the long walk down the aisle. The film was written by Segel and Stoller.

Not As Good As I Was Expecting,

I loved Bridesmaids and since this was from the same producers I was expecting it to be just as funny but it wasn't. At times the film seemed to drag on and film could easily have been 30 minutes shorter and not really lost anything plot wise.
In places the film was funny but it could have been so much better.

Gripping movie with a great story.

I expected the usual rom-com nonsense, but was very pleasantly surprised at this film. It took unpredictable twists and turns and had genuinely moving and laugh out loud moments. I didn't want it to end in fact. And for once, the leading pair actually have chemistry with each other. Excellent.

 Loved it!!!!

Charming, funny and remarkably in tune with real life

The film tells the story of two people whose lives take on different trajectories and who just cant seem to get it together. Its consistently funny, often laugh-out-loud so, but as Tom and Violet constantly thwart their chances of happiness it is also heart-wrenching and real, and the inevitable break-up scene genuinely moving.

One star is far too much credit for this........

We sat through this the other night and all I can say I was a dull and mind numbing and full on boring film.

Another dull Jason Thingamybob from Saving Sarah Marshall playing the same dumb and bored with his life character.

The film absolutely plods for two hours of your life that you will never get back.

The bit where the love interest and her sister discuss her love life whilst mimicking Grover from Sesame Street is the part where I turned to my wife and using mainly four letter expletives commented on how awful this film actually was.

Bad bad bad but not as bad as Bridesmaids.
