Taken 2: Extended Harder Cut

I agree with a lot of the other reviewers, this is a pretty average sequal. I though LN was a bit flat and totally unconvincing but the daughter shone through as did the bad guy. I waited for something to gel and the story to deepen but suddenly the film ended and I felt rather cheated. It is an okay film but nowhere as good as the first Taken, shame!

Will NEVER beat the orginal but still a good film.

This fim is a must see for Taken fans.
Its an excellent follow on from the original and had me on the edge of my seat throughout.
It as good if not better than the original.........do not miss it

If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you." Classic line from a classic guilty pleasure, so it was obvious that the original would spawn a much bigger budget sequel. Let there be no doubt Liam Neson is a god among middle aged men. It's a shame that this un-needed follow-up is a bit lazy in comparison to the original. Neeson again is fantastic and hard as nails and the scene by navigation by grenades is brilliantly preposterous. It's a sad truth that there are very few ways to be kidnapped, and diminishing sets in fast. Content to throw a few stunt doubles around in some sub- Bourne action scenes Director Olivier Megaton brings as much streamlines panache and excitement he did with Transporter 3 and Colombiana, in other words very little.
The harder cut is far better than the watered down cert 12 cinema cut, and although the budget is much bigger than the first film, it carries little of what made the first such a classic guilty pleasure.

They really tried to milk the fans by producing this one... I love the first one very much, but I wish i had never seen this. It hurt for days. The story is horrible, the "villains" seem kind of sympathetic, and the cutting is just awful (especially in the fighting scenes). This is a serious review. I hope the people involved in making this movie feel bad.

It is an insult to the first film! I still do not understand why? Why Liam why?! D:

considered the first film, was gritty, dark, nail biting. this film was poor, reduced to a 12A from a 18, now trying to claw back some pride by releasing this as a 15.

To the guy who rated it one star, what are you talking about? The first film isn't exactly believable. Films like these are not set in the real world, it's a fiction action film with a over 50 guy killing hundreds of other guys without them standing a chance. If you enjoyed the first one and not this one, you're deluded, they're both as unrealistic as each other and this one, in my opinion is just as enjoyable as the first one (Mainly because they're so far-fetch!). And "over the top"? I'm sorry but how is the first one not "over the top"? they're both as in you're face as each other, deal with it!

don't go into this film expecting the level of suspense or thrills of the first taken.it's not terrible but it's certainly not a a patch on the original.it feels watered down which of course it was
