This new chapter of Wrong Turn takes you to the most terrifying place of all - The Bloody Beginnings! An isolated sanatorium deep in the West Virginia wilderness is deserted after an inbred family of hillbilly cannibals escape and take revenge on their captors. Decades later, a group of college students seek refuge in the now-abandoned hospital after a blizzard derails their plans for a weekend winter break. But when the students encounter the medical ward's most frightening former patients, their only choice is to fight back... or die trying!

I liked the first two Wrong Turns, the third offering was undemanding, unoriginal but watchable, but this one is just plain dull and dumb beyond words. The winter setting is a nice new twist, but as a bunch of teenagers get stranded in the abandoned lunatic assylum it's just a bunch under written characters with very poor acting getting mutilated by the cannibal rednecks from hell. These kids are so dumb they deserve everything that's coming to them. Don't go into the basement by yourself, so they do, don't fall asleep, so they do, don't go looking for a missing friend by yourself when you find a trail of blood, you get the picture. The gore lovers will love the decapitations and splatter, but there is nothing here that you'll remember in T minus one hour!

This prequel provides a good explanation into the characters and why they are killers/cannibals, the movie is set in a mental hospital giving us the atmosphere for a horror movie. i really enjoyed the film and if you have watched the other 3 it is a must see!. i was slightly disappionted as i thought more could have been shown from where the brothers were children in the mental hospital to where they became adults.

Hopefully wrong turn 5 will have slightly more to offer to us.
