Well done Madonna. This film had me transfixed from start to finish with a well woven script and good characterisation. The observation of detail and period were excellent. A film to remember with facts in it I did not know about Wallace and Edward. Top marks.
Despite the swarm of bad reviews, largely due to the 'A film by Madonna' attachment, 'W.E.' is a pleasant surprise. It's not in the same league as 'The King's Speech', even though it shares some DNA, but it's also no 'Body of Evidence' either. Judge it on its own merits and watch it with no preconceived opinion in mind and you mind actually enjoy it. Genuinely underrated. I enjoyed it.
