  Rock Of Ages

This film was such a disappointment, could have been so much better. For starters some of the actors, were totally miscast. Would help if they could sing, apart from Zeta-Jones, and Mary J Bilge. The two main characters were ok, but it got to the point where I didn't care what happened in the film. The comedy was totally missing from this film, which is one of the reasons it doesn't work. The stage show is so much better, have seen them both. The stage show is ten times better, than watching this film.

If you like the rock songs then this film is perfect!!
Before I saw this film I thought it would just be full on cheesy and a waste of time, but it was actually really good and a movie id watch again...
Only reason i didn't give it 5 stars is down to the two young main characters as they wasn't really rock but more glee!

Brilliant film adaptation of the equally excellent stage show ! Tom Cruise excells as the hippy hard drinking rocker Stacey Jaxx ! in fact the whole cast is brilliant ! My favourite scene being the pool table scene with JAXX and Constance singing " The Foreigner hit "i want to know what love is " ! .great sound track !this has to be one of the best feel good films ive seen in ages !great energy music and very funny in places ! highly recomended ! Buy it !

  Rock of Awfulness

I don't know what the other reviewers were watching. Mind numbingly unfunny, rubbish sacrificial slaughter of 80's soft rock tunes with thouroughly unlikeable characters. Everyone involved with" Rock of Ages" should hang their heads in shame. A spectacularly miscast Russell Brand sporting the worst brummy accent ever should never work in movies again.

  Great film

I went to the cinema to see this not knowing it was a musical. When they burst in to song at the start I was mortified, but it turned out to be a really good film. The fact that all the music is from my generation and things I listened to growing up, probably added to the enjoyment for me, but a great film nonetheless.

A real feel good film that will have you singing out loud - not at all how I thought it would play out, but so much better! Even if you're not a fan of musicals, you can still really enjoy this. And If you love 80s rock you will love this right to the very end. Fun filled, with elements of comedy and romance - and everyone looks HOT - 10/10
