Take no notice whatsoever of the 4 and 5* reviews - this film is far from that.
This is a POOR effort by Disney/Pixar's usual standards. Normally the characters and story are well worked, but here it seemed like they couldn't be bothered.
I wasn't drawn into the story; I didn't care about the characters, especially the mother. It wasn't funny and it wasn't moving.
This pales in comparison to similar cartoons, for example 'How to Train Your Dragon', which poops on it from a great height, like... well... like a dragon pooping on a bear.
Set in Scotland and based mainly on Princess Meridar, who is set up to marry one of three Princes. However, she has other ideas and looks for ways to escape the future Marriage as her Father the King dreams of revenge on the bear that took his leg.
This is a well made film with great graphics and a good story suitable for a kids film. Theres a good pace and lots of action and is a suitable length to hold interest in younger children. Theres also some famous and good voice overs. Theres a few of the usual cliches you see in kids films but overall its a good family film that will probably appeal more to young girls.
