This is not to be confused with the new version of the captain America movie, this is the original 1990 version from the director of nemesis and cyborg!! It has slight similarities in story to the new version but mainly goes in a different direction, the main villain is still red skull who looks pretty cool and has some decent make up effects, theres plenty of action all done in a cheesy fashion not quite as exciting as you want it but this was twenty years ago!! If you love old cheesy action movies and comic book films then its worth checking out for a bit of old retro fun. No features on disc.

be aware that this is made in 1990 and not the new version

I have to say that this is better than its given credit for.The tiny budget shows up everywhere throughout its running time but with some decent effects and familiar faces popping up, its certainly better than some of the much larger budget attempts over the years to bring Comicbook heroes to the big screen.Albert Pyun does what he does best, action, fantasy and fun.

Confused. Maybe a re-release. I bought it because below the DVD title it says 'Released on 02 April 2012', yet this is a grainy 1990's film. Having watched one of the newer Captain America films online this version looks awful in comparison. For retro fans only. Avoid.
