Jon Pertwee is coming towards the end of his tenure as the doctor so gives an excellent performance as the doctor. Elisabeth Sladens also gives an excellent performance as Sarah Jane with her first meeting with the daleks. Death starts off well with the Tardis arriving on the planet Exillon in the night which gives you a chilling feel and mystery.
Again with nearly every classic dalek doctor who you only get to see 3 daleks in action with the fourth clearly unoccupied.
The special features are interesting too with a documentary looking at the making of this story saying how the daleks worked well on location and how Jon Pertwee hated them. Not a five star story but i will give it an 8/10.

  ..... just average..but a funny story.

Not one of the best stories - the premise is that Humans, Daleks and Exxilons have to work together after a power shortage leading to Daleks with Machines gun mounts on their guns, they also have to get a cure to a intergalatic plague off the planet. Nation shows his boredom of writing for the Daleks by having them as minor character in this story they seem to bumble along as a comedy villain in this story. It has the 'Key To Marinus' task element in the last episode that by now Terry Nation was fond of throwing into his stories. Think this dvd has more appeal to the hardened fans as the elongated story where everything is throw just to get the Daleks back on screen might bore the fans on the new series. There is very little to be said about this story in the bonus features also no one saw how a certain George Lucas ripped off the Exxilons and created a character called the Sandmen.
- Having fully watched the story i was suprised how good it was - it has an element of humour to the story. Daleks having a nervous breakdown and shooting mini targets of the Tardis - really funny in what could have been a really boring story but was an entertaining yarn that has gone up in my estimations.

I can't wait to finally own this classic Doctor Who story on DVD, Jon Pertwee is great and it's really nice to see another great story being released on DVD. What is also great that not only do we have Jon Pertwee as the Doctor but the lovely and wonderfully late great Elisabeth Sladen stars in it as well. Plus another classic Dalek story so don't delay pre-order today.
