In The Grey, Liam Neeson leads an unruly group of oil-rig roughnecks when their plane crashes into the remote Alaskan wilderness. Battling mortal injuries and merciless weather, the survivors have only a few days to escape the icy elements and a vicious pack of rogue wolves on the hunt before their time runs out.

Yet again this is another superb performance from Liam Neeson, the grey is a gritty and realistic chiller with a story which is simple yet nail bitingly brilliant, great performances all round, this is the ultimate survival movie and really puts you into the moment with them wondering what you might do to survive, its cold and there are some vicious wolves that really mean business, who will survive, make sure you see this fantastic movie its certainly a one off, make sure you stay until the end of the credits for one final scene!!!

The Grey is the first great film of 2012. The trailer makes you think that this is going to be an action filled survival adventure, but the film is actually much more. I did not expect that the movie would give you as much to think about. The set up is simple, as a set of Oil workers in the wilds of Alaska crash land in the wilderness, with only a few survivors, this rag-tag group lead by Liam Neeson giving one of the best performances ever, must survive the elements and not forgetting a pack of very hungry wolves.
What I was not expecting was the well rounded characters that you actually care about and end up willing to survive. The tension throughout the film is constant as the Wolves get the taste for human blood and it's a case of fighting back to survive. The movie very cleverly drags you into the emotions the survivors are feeling, from terror, rage and even questions faith. This movie is two hours of extreme survival and by the end you'll end up being emotionally drained as although some may complain about the ending, for me it was the only way the film could end as the final bit of Liam Neesons back story is revealed.
The Grey is one of the best survival movies of all time.

liam neesons one of those actors that always gives 100% and hes no different here. neeson is a marksman for oil company and is assigned to protect oil workers from wild wolves in alaska, on a flight home from a tough tour the planes crashes in middle of nowhere. the survivors look to neeson to get them to safety when they are stalked by a pack of wolves. good acting, great scenery, and only glimpses of the wolves make for a great thriller. get it.
