The Simpsons: Complete Season 9

For many, including myself, this is the season that "The Simpsons" jumped the shark, the quality of the episodes take a noticeable decline and although there are many funny moments in the season it is let down by poor writing that doesn't live up to previous seasons.

The "Treehouse of Horror" halloween episodes are always entertaining and that is no exception here and the 200th episode "Trash of the Titans" is also very entertaining, mainly because it features the Irish rock band U2. Other than that the stand out episodes are few and far between, giving the season an, unfortunately, entirely forgettable feel.

In terms of Extras the boxset is well on par with previous releases, commentaries, deleted scenes and artwork in abundance, certainly no complaints in this department.

Overall Season 9 is still worth a look but don't set your expectations too high, the classic feel and quality of episodes seen through the first 8 years is not here, however much it pains me to say it.

This dvd case is snazy and posh on the inside and out and it came with some cd case simpson postcards.because of this i bought it and the episodes where brill.my favs were 200th episode `Trash of the Titans`,`Lost our Lisa`and the annual treehouse of horror,plus many more.i think this is one of the last seasons before simpsons went downhill,so i enjoyed it as much as i could.well done Matt Groening whove made a pretty good simpsons season,woo hoo.

Anyone who thinks the quality has dropped as the seasons go by is wrong. The quality of the episodes improve all the time. I can't understand anyone not liking this season. Buy it!!!!!!!!!!

i havent even bought this yet, but due to the fact that it is clearly a brilliant dvd and a great bargain at this price, i thought it deseved a 5star rating, NICE

Opening with one of my all time favourite episodes in 'The City of New York Vs Homer Simpson' The Simpsons ninth season is certainly no worse than the previous eight. In fact, with the exception of the dull musical clip show, there is yet again not a poor episode in the entire season.
