I wasn't sure what to expect from this film but the reviews on the front made it look interesting. I was watching it with my friend and we were thinking it might be something like Kidulthood (which is a good film) but nothing happened and up until the last 10 minutes it was nothing but teenagers walking around talking. The last 10 minutes didn't make it interesting it just made it worse. Overall I think I'd rather watch grass grow.

The Great Ecstasy of Robert Carmichael.... On the front cover they mention A Clockwork Orange. Seriously, this movie should not be mentioned in the same breath as A Clockwork. Nothing paricularly intriguing about the movie. It is slow, fairly mundane and dull to be honest. The violence in the closing scene is certainly extreme but seems to have been thrown in simply for shock value. I'm not going to say that the closing scene should have been cut because I am against censorship. However, it does seem a little mindless. If you want an exhilarating movie with edgey storylines, interesting charcters and plenty of violence then try Natural Born Killers (Directors Cut) and A Clockwork. They are in a different league compared to this work.

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars brutal, upsetting but a great film

i can see where the other reviewers are coming from, but i actually enjoyed this movie and own it. i cannot reccomend it to anyone with a weak stomach but i do to people that are awake to what the world is today. the cinematography is amazing and very artistic, which is the only elegant element to this movie as everything else is dark and disturbing. the whole hour and twenty mins results in by far an extremely graphic ending that puts everything confusing before into place. this is even more graphic than gaspar noe's french movie IRREVERSIBLE. theres your warning...

It is appalling that this film has been released on the DVD. I am a liberal, but have no reservations in condemning the film makers and distributors for releasing this disgusting film on DVD. The end scene is exploitative, gratuitious, distasteful, demeaning and highly unintelligent. Don't waste your money on this. Fight against film-makers like this one.

Can't believe they've conned someone into releasing this dross. Saw it in Edinburgh at the festival a couple of years ago and listened afterwards while the two upper class morons who made it, tried to justify this pointless, pointless movie.

Customer rating: 1 out of 5 stars absolute garbage

after watching this film i felt i had to write a review to say what an absolute load of rubbish it was. The film itself makes no sense whatsoever and has some very long and pointless scenes involving a load of people who havent got a clue how to act. And what the hell is Danny Dyer doing in this film !!! Also the end scene is extremely shocking and brutal and to be honest i found it quite sickening to watch. Please people dont spend £16.99 to buy this film it aint worth bothering with !!!!

Unbelievably drawn out and I felt that several long scenes served no purpose. Very boring up until the very end scene - which I didn't enjoy watching at all. That particular scene was unduely horrific and it came quite out of the blue for me as the protagonist changed unrecognisably. For casual viewers looking to be entertained, like myself, don't waste your time watching this. There's a deeper political meaning in this film in relation to the Iraq war, but it failed to really hit me.

This is a very slow and dark film, which has a very slow pace. The film;s scenes cut very quickly and its all really about the ending really, which is very Clockwork Orange esque. It is a lot to take in and to try and work out in certain areas, but comes together in the end.
