The trailer looked good to this and Russell Crowe is great, but I wasn't sure what to expect. The early scenes in London were done quite well and were amusing. Then as soon as the film moved to France and the lovely characters are integrated, the movie got even better. I liked everybody in it, but Russell Crowe and Marilyn Cotillard were a fantastic couple. Add a sexy Abby Cornish and a happy ending, and I will look forward to watching this a few more times.

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars great movie - makes you want to move there!

Lovely story - fantastic scenery - takes you from the hustle and bustle of London's square mile and all the "cameraderie" involved (and I jest there!) to the tranquility and beauty of France, to a life we would all aspire to. When can I move?!!!

It's that transformation we all seek. From the harsh unpleasantness of business life in England to peaceful tranquility of the French countryside. An involving story packed with strong characters and class acting. Russell Crowe steals the show by demonstrating a more sensitive side to his acting than we have come to expect. Marion Cotillard adds the romance with her 'will she won't she' character and seals the feel good factor at the end of the film with her commitment to Crowe. Albert Finney is Albert Finney exactly as we have come to expect him bringing an extra touch of traditional quality to this spell binding production. If you have a heart, watch it!

'A Good Year' is one of those films that you wish would never end. After only two minutes of watching you find yourself captured by the plot, delighted by the characters and unable to take your eyes off the screen. Russell Crowe does a fantastic job as main character Max Skinner along with Albert Finney, who plays Skinner's recently deceased Uncle Harry. Due to his Uncle's absence of a last will and testament, Skinner finds himself the reluctant owner of his Uncle's vast, archaic estate in France, which holds several gorgeous vineyards. What Skinner discovers there is something beautiful and extraordinary that transforms him into a warm-hearted man ready to appreciate what he has taken for granted almost all of his life.
A brilliant film that is romantic, hilarious and thoroughly entertaining.
You will find yourself watching it again and again.
