I couldnt agree more with the other reviewers. A truly breathtaking movie on all levels. Such a symapthetic view of how any kind of addiction (in the movie its their love that destroys them as much as its heroin) can ultimately destroy you. Heath and Abbie lay down the gaunlet to any movie on how to play a myriad of emotions but at the same time never become too confusing. Its a real pity more people didnt see this before the tragic loss of Heath, but I suppose if anything else, more people can see his work and hopefully prove that he was an acting heavyweight, completely fearless of any role he took !! Just an amazing piece of cinema, great script, great support by the always dependable Geoffrey Rush and truly mesmerising performances by the lead stars. Do not miss this movie !!!

Heath Ledger plays a stupendous role as a poet heroin addict who struggles through his intoxicating and deep relationship with Candy, slowly making her reliant and dependent on heroin. The darkness of their love proves how deep they are, how unbearable they will allow their lives to become as long as their relationship stands the test.
It truly is fantastic, showing a believable, fantastic take on heroin addiction.
It's definitely one of my top ten films and a must see for anyone.
This is without a doubt Heath Ledger's finest role I have seen as he carries his acting to an ultimate achievement, making his character pitiful, harsh, cruel, loved, disgraceful, human, flawed, enlightened and whatever else he can throw in there. It definitely is the acting from Abbie and Heath that make this film so brilliant!

The only reason I first had for watching this movie is because it had Heath Ledger in it. After watching The Dark Knight I have become a huge HeathLedger fan and decided to look into more of his movies and this is top of the list I have watched so far.

Both Heath and Abbie cornish give powerful performances and with such a high standard of acting it is impossible not to become attached to 'Dan and Candy' on an emotional level. We see the ups and downs of their relationships and see how their relationship with heroin is just as intense as their relatinship with one and other: both are impossible to carry on living with, but impossible to live with out.

Overall this film is a success simply because it is believeable. This is not done purley becausse of the script (because it could so easily become unbelieveable) but again because of the standard of acting. Both Abbie Cornish and Heath Ledger give award worthy performance but it is Heath who really pulls it out of the bag, at times being a hero and at other times being a coward, this film is just another dedication to the amazing talant this outstanding actor had. The movies should be called Dan.

This film covers a variety areas of life that come along with addiction such as fraud, prostituion, mental illness and a lot more. Weather your into horror films or Romantics I fail to see that this film could not appeal to you once watching it. It is evidence of the standard of ablity which Abbie Cornish has and a true tribute to Heath Ledger who once again proves his abilities as one of the greatest actors of all time.

This is an outstanding movie, you won't be dissapointed.

The only word that sums up Heath Ledgers acting. I watched this film recently until 4am and it was worth every second. A fantastic portrail of love and how such stupid things such as drugs can ruin it all. If you havn't seen it, watch it. And if you have seen it, buy it so you can watch it again!

This film is incredible and deifently worth watching. Heath Ledger leads a really strong and perfect cast. During the film, you get easily attached to the characters and that only adds to the impact the film has as a whole.

watching this film after hearing of heath ledgers untimely death is sad because he was a fine young actor with a great future ahead of him.chillingly he plays a heroin addict and if rumors are true was struggling to beat drug abuse in real life.like river phoenix, brandon lee,etc ledgers death is such a waste of a very talented actor.this is worth buying.
