24: Redemption

When i first sat down to watch this i was incredibly sceptical, i thought all they're doing is trying to make a series of 24 into a couple of hours, it'd be rushed and loathsome and i would end up not caring about season 7...how wrong i was!
The story picks up a while after season 6, jack is on the run from the us government helping out in a school in the small african country of sangala, which is in the throws of a military uprising.

When the local forces start brainwashing children to become soldiers jack is left with no choice but to step in the only way jack bauer knows how to. I wont spoil the whole storyline for you but for those of us who were longing for season 7 this is a great addition.

If you've forgotten season 6 there is a quick recap, and best of all once you've watched redeption there is a 15 minute season 7 teaser which i guarantee will leave you screaming at your tv to keep going!

I highly recommend this to any fans of 24 that are waiting for season 7, its great viewing.

Basically this is a 2hr special to bridge the gap between Series 6 & Series 7 due to start on TV soon. It is better than most of the episodes from Series 6. Shows how Jack Bauer has gone away to try & find himself in Africa but as usual ends up having to fight the bad guys by himself. Robert Carlyle pops up as his old army buddie. Former Ally Mcbeal Peter Macnicol is back in this one from Series 6 is joined by former Mcbeal co-star Gill Bellows. Look out for bit parts from John Voight & Bob Gunton as 24 starts gearing up for what promises to be a promising Series 7. All of this & a woman president. Who'd have thought that. Worth seeing but maybe only for diehard 24 fans only.

First of all, this is brilliant. This is the shorter version of the two dvd's that are released, this is approximately 14 minutes shorter. This was very ambitious of the team at 24 and i personally think it has paid off. Robert carlyle does a great job and so does kiefer sutherland (doesn't he always).

But the really amazing thing on this disc is the season 7 sneak peak which gives you the first 17 minutes of season 7. It is awesome, kiefer sutherland is amazing in it. There are also a welcome return from a main character.

On a side note, im more into blu-rays now as i have a sony bravia hdtv, but ive noticed that some dvd's look better upscaled than others and this is one of those briiliant dvd's, the quality is brilliant.

This contains all the excitement you could fit into 24 hours, combined into 2 hours! Superb as expected!

Don't get me wrong, I am a huge 24 fan! HUGE! And although as seasons have gone on its gone downhill due to a lack of storylines, season 3 being the pinnacle! 24 redemption is too predictable although it has the feel good factor. For the 24 thing alone it gets three stars and its ok as action movies go. Worth a buy if your a 24 fan, if your just into action movies buy something else for I fear you may be dissapointed!
