i know this did not do brilliantly at the cinema, however
i watched it with an open mind,i liked it,wasn't to sure
about the telepathic voice of the dragon though.
the action was pretty good, the special effects were
good and in that vain, the dragon look was a visual
treat.
i've watched it on dvd since and again enjoyed it.
it's not in the same class as the rings trilogy, but then
what is ?
i really hope they continue to make and release the
2nd and 3rd in the trilogy.
i believe this film is worth watching. enjoy.

Its a good film if you haven't read the book, but if you have read the book then the film needs to be like 5 hours long. It is still good

only deserves 2 stars thanks to jeremy irons presence!

your kids may like this, but it really isnt great film. jeremy irons does his best, and there are some good effects, but the main character, eragon, deary me, back to acting school methinks!, awful is the kindest thing you can say about that performance. dont bother, unless its £2.99 or less.

enjoy the film without putting your brain in overdrive

I put off buying this having seen it take a lot of criticism but I thought if it finds itself in the under £5 section I'll buy it, but after months of waiting and no reduction I thought it must be selling pretty well so I bought it.
I found it a truly enjoyable film, and if you're into magic, myths and dragons or those role playing games I would assume this films up your alley, not one of the best from this genre but certainly not disappointing.
Its story isn't original with any surprising twist (not read any of the books) but what I like about it is you can sit back and relax and just enjoy the film without putting your brain in overdrive.
People always talk about casting and acting, I really can't see any problems with it bad acting always comes from an extra or a stuntman with a speaking part as far as I'm concerned.
CGI was good; though to a trained eye I found when eragon mounted the dragon it had a slight jerkiness to it.
I have now watched the DVD twice and I found it more enjoyable the second time around.
It would be nice if they complete the onscreen story with the complete trilogy so I can learn more past and present developing stories... no time for books, it would take me a year to complete one.
