I do not like the fact that i am about to critisise this film as i am a big fan of Christopher Paolini and his books "the inheritence cycle". The book is amazing, i would say along the same lines as "The Lord Of The Rings" and "Harry Potter", but the film "Eragon" was a serious let down. I could not beleive i was watching the right film. Everything has been done wrong from the characters attitudes to the story line itself. The only similarity between the book and the film is the name (Eragon) and the characters names. I was very disappointed and hope the director does not attempt to create the following books.
I have been truthful and considerate and hope that you read my opinions before you buy the DVD. Thank you.
awful

I hav to say this is possibly the worst book to film transition
I loved all three books currently out, yet this version of it lacks oh so much
The casting is terrible, with no one having any true experiance (they say they wanted someone 'fresh', and no-one is even slightly like their book counterparts, and malkovich as a big bad strong man!?!?!?!
The way they hav cut so much out, and changed important truths- urgals are obese men and a random shadow monster is made?
There is nothing good about this film, such a shame but oh well
only deserves 2 stars thanks to jeremy irons presence!

your kids may like this, but it really isnt great film. jeremy irons does his best, and there are some good effects, but the main character, eragon, deary me, back to acting school methinks!, awful is the kindest thing you can say about that performance. dont bother, unless its £2.99 or less.
