Lost Series 3 begins dealing with the brilliant cliffhanger of series 2. I won't mention what the cliffhanger is, but if your waiting to see what happened to Locke, Desmond, Charlie and Mr Eko in the hatch you'll have to wait till episode 7.
The first excellent 6 episodes is a mini story arc of the 3 main Lost lead Characters: Jack, Sawyer and Kate are held in captivity by the others.
As a show, its main story of life in the Island, tying in flashbacks of an individuals characters life before getting to the Island is excellent. The setting of the show and acting is consistently fantastic. If you look hard enough during the flashback stories you'll see other charatcers stories interlink and this can only be better in DVD to pause or rewind. Such as during a Desmond flashback show - Who's in the picture on the desk of the Monk at the end of that show? Who called Charlie a Hero in the episode toward the end of the series... Really clever and gripping
Series 3 though, throws everything you know about Lost on its head. Questions such as where the polar bears came from, who is Ben, who are the Dharma initative? Why was Locke in a wheelchair? Why can't they communicate with anyone, how do the others know so much about the plane's survivors? Why was Claire abducted? What is the Island? get answered some what but then many other questions are raised in the process. Such as who is Richard? Jacob, the smoke monster?
Plus, the finale of this series, 'Through the looking glass' throws everything you know about Lost's story telling on its head. And will leave you thinking how can I really wait 9 months to find out whats happened. Honestly, the last scene of this series is absoloutly shocking!
Again, expect major characters death's, terryfing moment's, (such as when Locke meets Jacob) and a bitter sweet love story. The sets and and action sequences are also brilliant. There are also some great stand alone episodes not connected to a major story arc but really, to get into lost you need to have seen all the previous episodes.
