Customer rating: 2 out of 5 stars Oliver Stone's worst film

Oliver Stone has outdone himself. I said that Nixon was the worst film he had ever made, but this dull, sloppy, boring mess of a fillm takes the cake as the worst dog of a film he has ever made. You learn nothing about the characters, and little else about what was really happening on that day in New York. What you do get instead is something that plays like a bad disaster telemovie about two men tapped in rubble. And the script is so bad it reduced the audience I watched this with to unintentional laughter on two occasions. The heroes and memory of the people who died on September 11 deseve a better film than this waste of time. United 93 was a very good analysis of that event, and this film is not in its league at all. Hopefully, a good movie about what happened at the World Trade Center will be made one day, but this is not it.

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars Oliver Stone makes a film for stupid people.

Split between Cage and his colleagues trapped under some rubble, and crying wives - this is a thankfully restrained account of the last two survivors pulled from what was left of the World Trade Center on 11th September. This is Stone at his most mainstream, although we should be thankful someone so level-headed was chosen to direct this movie, or we could have been looking at somthing to rival 'Pearl Harbour' in terms of awfulness.

I was always under the assumption that this film was actually a film and not just a quick cash in on a disaster.

If this film had been released and the WTC hadn't of happened then it possibly would have been an excellent blockbuster movie.

An anorex Nicholas Cage whom you thought would be in an active role during most of this film has one of the easiest acting jobs of his life.

If for some reason you never saw the carnage of 9/11 then maybe you should take a watch to see what happened, if however you was like me horriefied and watched the actual day on TV you do not really need this movie as a reminder.

Deffinatly not Nicholas Cages finest hour.

I thought the film may have been a little more personal then what it was. It seemed like the beginning was rushed and was just based around the middle. I was expecting it to give me a personal feeling to what happened but it never. Although at £3.99 its worth a watch, everyone has different opinions.

This is one of 3 films that I have watched after buying about this awful trajedy that happened to both the american unsuspecting and innocent public and whatever nations of people caught up and lost their lives including the British. I watched it on a Sunday morning all snuggled up warm in a duvet. How safe I felt. It gives the perspective of some of the emergency services and the people mostly in the Twin Towers, although mentioning the other fatal events going on that day. If you have watched this you may not find it as heart rending as some, yet worth a watch. I do agree with one other comment that maybe a newbie could have played Cage's role, but this was a bigger budget film so big budget actors get screened.

Untied 93 gets mentioned here which is a good film seen more from the ground crew of airlines and American Authorities trying to salvage any order out of the chaos. Please give Flight 93 a different and lower budget film a go which I believe came out first, that had me crying, it is easier to understand United 93 and Flight 93 after reading Among the Heroes by Jere Longman. Both Flight 93 and this book give more emotional insight and tribute to these frightened yet brave, yet in the end undefeated people, sadly just going about a pretty normal day and then terror. To be honest watching planes go into buildings is part of the history of that day although for me nauseating to see, concentration should always be on the impact that day has had on us all and not the potential special affects that a film could provide.

Okay, the film wasn't brilliant, to be honest, I didn't enjoy it. But the fact that all people wanted to see was the planes crashing is kinda sad if ya ask me. Nick Cage shouldn't have been cast, not in something like this, could have grabbed hold of a newbie, but the fact that people wanted to see the planes crash, is one of the most evil things I've heard.
