The open highway becomes a terrifying battleground of blood, metal, fear and murder when a young couple Grace and Jim (Sophia Bush and Zachary Knighton) hit the road and encounter the mysterious hitchhiker John Ryder (Sean Bean) during a violent storm.

The initial encounters with Ryder escalate rapidly as he transforms into a deadly, racing psychopath, and the stakes are raised further when he frames Grace and Jim for a horrific slaying that makes them fugitives from the law. As the carnage mounts and the action pushes you to the edge of your seat, Grace and Jim must fight for their lives and face their fears head-on.

This film has the same producers of the Texas chainsaw remake & you cant realy fault the camera work, theres 2 or 3 nice jumps"that made the mrs jump more than me",ha,ha,.Theyve kept the"Where u heading"Line?-"Disneyland!"from the original, but its nowhere near as cool as the original.I was also a little dubious at the fact they layed over the top of some car action"industrial Techno"music?"did they think it,d be cool and modern? So to sum up"Sean beans always solid and watchable, the two teens in destress arent annoying and theres some nice scares and gore"But doesent have any of the icy Class of the Original.

This remake to the 1986 classic is not as good, but it still is a very tense thrill ride. Sean Bean replaces Rutger Hauer as The Hitcher, and to great suprise he is actually very good. But never comes close to being as diabolical as Hauer. The main fault with the film is instead of having one victim to toy with, The remake now has to Jim and his girlfriend. This lowers the tention as the desperation and emptyness of Jim's chatacter from the first film has gone. Although the two play off each other well. Also in the first film , The camara cuts away in the famouse truck scene. This remake preffers to show you. This again lacks the originals power, as the imagination is far stronger, imagining what happend, than acually seeing it. But the films is never dull, and the 80 minute running time means The Hitcher never outstays his welcome. A decent re-think to the classic original.

I must say after watching the original, i wasnt expecting the re-make to be that good. However, it far exceeded my expectations. I thought it was better than the original. Sean Bean also played his role brilliantly.
