i think sean bean is a great person to play this role.i love the original but as i dont own any copys of this or the original i am going to go with the remake.its a much better version and anyone who knows anything about movies would understand why.i hate when people make bad comments on a film that has just been made better because they dont like change.
i would definatly say this is one of the, if not the best remake ever made.well worth buying and if you havnt seen either of them just watch the remake. signed j.sheppard (the movie guru)

I must say after watching the original, i wasnt expecting the re-make to be that good. However, it far exceeded my expectations. I thought it was better than the original. Sean Bean also played his role brilliantly.

A very predictable and at times drawn out horror/chiller. Sean Bean plays his role very well but (being petty) his accent does start to annoy you.

The film kind of plods along at a random pace which makes it equally annoying as some sequences are really good. The title characters don't have much appeal to them and at times you want Sean to get them first just so you can end the film.

Small casts and slow plots have been proven not to work for horror films and this follows the same route as films like Wrong Turn and Wolf Creek.

Not bad if you're in the mood for something mindless or its the only DVD you own, if you have a choice then probably go for something else more fright worth or entertaining.

If you aren't a hardened fan of the original, this might just surprise you. Don't expect too much, but just sit back and enjoy the ride...

Nowhere near as good as the original, thank god for Sophia Bush's legs, best thing about the film

An alright remake but lacks entertainment, it is quite boring and the ending is a let down, it basically just ends. 3/5 Is generous.

  A Terrifying Thrill Ride!

This movie is actually very scary at times!
Sean Bean is absolutely fantastic as "The Hitcher" - a maniac hell bent on scaring half to death and killing these 2 teenagers driving through the middle of nowhere.
It has lots of "jump moments" and there is plenty of blood etc too.
I'd recommend checking this, but don't watch alone!

  Good Film!

Alot of people say that this film didn't live up to the 1970 version but i actually think it did.
Sophia Bush was incrediable as an actress. Very different from her One Tree Hill role. This film really showed her ability to act.
Well worth the buy for £5!
