Im glad to see Reene and Ewan acting together again, I like it when actors and actresses do things like that, and this film is really quaint and charming in its own way! It is a shame we couldnt of had a British actress playing a British author but it doesnt really matter as Reene was brill as Bridget Jones and so she can pull it off!
I love all the cute little things that Miss Potter is portrayed as doin, like seein her characters come to life, I think thats really sweet, I mean, they are alive in her head so its cute we can see that in the film!
It is a sad film in places and happier in others, and if true, it shows how the real Miss Potter ended up alone. Sob sob!

What a wonderfully magical film. I really loved every minute of it, from beginning to end. A great story line, which makes you laugh as well as cry. Renee is great in it, and is perfect at playing Beatrix Potter in that era. The drawings are great, especially how they come to life.
This film really is an inspiration, and is suitable for the whole family. I can garuntee all will love it, and be left feeling happy and enchanted. I would not hesitate to watch it again and again, and i would definatley recomend to anyone.
My advice: buy this film.

A magical family romantic drama, tells a sweet story with good acting and a touching ending. The only flaw I can find is the slightly bittersweet ending, I feel it left a few questions unanswered. Still, not bad for a fiver and definitely one for Potter fans.

This is one of my most favourite films! It's such a great story and the fact that it actually happened makes it even more magical! Very well filmed and i love how the drawings come to life, not just for the shake of it but because she really must have had an amazing imagination! The cast was picked perfectly too!!

I don't know which film Seranade was watching but it certainly did not have Ann Hathaway in it or James McEvoy! Renee Zellweger and Ewan Mcgregor were outstanding as was Bill Patterson I must say. A very moving film and one which made you realise that Miss Potter was a woman well ahead of her time!!

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars Absoloutly enchanting...

What can I say? This is the only film I've ever seen at the cinema where no-one talked as they came out, seemingly transfixed by what they had just seen - surely that alone says it all?

Renée Zellweger gave an outstanding performance, as did all her co-stars, as the talented Beatrix Potter,
really transforming this film into something spectacular. It gives an interesting and thoughtful insight into the real Beatrix Potter's life, making it both fun and educational to watch at the same time. The way this film captures the audience is incredible, it appeals to both the young and old. Very much a family film, I would recommend this to anyone, especially those who have an interest in Miss Potter's life or who have young children.

i originally refrained from going to see this film at the cinema, as i thought it'd be another of those films with a cheesy love story thrown in and bad writing. it looked a tad cheesy in my opinion.
BUT my mum borrowed it from her friend at work a few weeks ago, and admidst alot of moaning on my behalf, we finally watched it. at first, it looked as i expected..one for the younger generation, but as the story progressed i realised that it had subtle layers to it which appealed to both older and younger generation. the actors portray their shy love affair, and i was very very moved at parts, but at others i found myself laughing at the chaperone who was just there in every scene!
now..the next problem is actually buying it without letting my mum that i liked it (i have my principals)
utterly charming and heartfelt, i strongly recommend for anyone..young or old 9.5/10

This is a one of the loveliest films I have seen. Charming, delightful and full of imagination, it will keep you enchanted from start to finish. Excellent performances from Anne Hathaway and James McAvoy, this film will have you smiling and possibly shedding a tear or two. Anyone who has grown up with Beatrix Potter's characters will love seeing how she brings them to life and you will want to read the books again.
An interesting and heart-warming look at one of our nations favourite authors and illustrators. There is a definite feel good factor to this film, despite some very sad and emotional scenes. It is the sort of film I could watch again and again.
