Adapted from the novel by Cecelia Ahern P.S. I Love You stars Hilary Swank, Gerard Butler and Kathy Bates in this charming and heart warming tale about love.

Holly Kennedy (Hilary Swank) is beautifual, smart and married to the love of her life - a passionate, funny and impetuous irishman named Gerry (Gerard Butler). So when Gerry's life is taken by an illness, it takes the life out of Holly. The only one who can help her is the person who is no longer there. Nobody knows Holly better than Gerry. So it's a good thing he planned ahead!

Before he died, Gerry wrote Holly a series of letters that will guide her, not only through her grief but in rediscovering herself. The first message arrives on Holly's 30th birthday in the form of a cake, and to her utter shock, a tape recording from Gerry, who proceeds to order her to 'get out and celebrate herself!' In the weeks and months that follow, more letters from Gerry are delivered, each sending her on a new adventure and each signing off in the same way: P.S. I Love You!

 Cringe!!!

I absolutely loved the book and was really looking forward to seeing this but in my opinion I think Cecilia Ahern has sold her soul - no way could she have been happy with this adaptation! The acting was cringeworthy and the story was just boring. It didn't capture any of the emotions from the book. The scenes set in Ireland were laughable and also cringeworthy.... I'm a big fan of girly rom coms but this was a major disappointment. Perhaps it wouldn't have been so bad if I hadnt read the book first.

 No no no no no

This film is twee, quirky (in a bad way) and so desperate to make you cry that it becomes almost ridiculous. Neither lead actor is particulary charismatic and as for the key premise of the film? Urgh! A man writes letters telling a woman how to move on after he dies? Please! Oh...and great as Gerard Butler is...why on earth did they make him Irish? The man sounds like an english guy doing an impression of an american doing an awful Irish accent! He's scottish...why not just leave him as scottish?! I was truly unimpressed.

 P.S I LOVE THIS MOVIE!

Twice I have watched this movie now. Both times I have laughed and I have cried. Having tried to read the book and gave up a quarter into it, I decided to give the movie a go and I love it! So now I am going to sit down with the book and give it another go. Sometimes that's what it takes to get me to read the book, I need watch the movie first to get a feel of the story.

This movie has everything I want. It's sad, funny, sexy, heartfelt and slushy. Gerard Butler is very yummy and Hilary Swank is gorgeous!

For me it's a 10/10!

 P.s. i love this film

i have to admit (which dosnt happen alot so take advantage) that i actually went to the cinema to see this film 6 times after a girly mate told me that it was a brilliant film and it made her cry. i sat through the film 6 times and sobbed from start to finish. people must have thought i was bloomen mad but hey i loved the film and it has to be said that it is a must see for 2008. + Gerry is fit as can be and william. anyway ... i would recomend it to anyone with a heart. its a brilliant girly night in film with a tub of ice cream, some pizza and a box of tissues to hand. i am ordering my copy of 'P.S. I Love You' right now, why dont you . . . ?

This film is dreadful. How the author Cecilia Ahern gave her consent to this film version of her original book still amazes me. It is absolutely nothing like it and if bears no resemblance to it whatsoever. The book is a great read and this film is unrecognisable as the same story. It was so disappointing. Besides that there was no chemistry between the characters and much as I usually like Gerard Butler he definitely wasn't right for the role. Neither was Hilary Swank who I found completely unbelievable. Why didn't they leave the story in Ireland where it was meant to be? I'm sure they could have made a much better film if they had stuck to the original setting and storyline.
