Director Eli Roth (Hostel, Cabin Fever) and producer Quentin Tarantino (Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs) up the ante in the brutal and terrifying sequel to the smash hit Hostel.

Starring Bijou Phillips (Almost Famous, Venom), Heather Matarazzo (The Princess Diaries, Scream 3) and Roger Bart (The Producers, TV's Desperate Housewives), Hostel Part II takes place directly after the events of the first film and once again also features Jay Hernandez (Hostel, Ladder 49) as the revenge-seeking but ultimately hapless Paxton.

After the outrageous events of Hostel, Hostel Part II follows a group of female backpackers as they are lured to the apparently perfect youth hostel for a holiday packed with hedonistic fun. However, the truth once again turns out to be far more terrifying as the girls are subjected to a brutal ordeal at the hands of the sick tourists who pay to exercise their darkest desires.

 Absolute waste of time!!

I thought the first hostel film was really good. Different to other horror films and even though it was disgusting and disturbing there was something about it that made me want to watch it again. This film however was a huge dissapointment. The story line was rubbish, the acting was awful and can I just add.. .. am I the only person who thinks that killing a child is going a little bit too far? Fair enough kill women but killing a child and showing you his dead body is just awful and in bad taste. I wish i hadn't bothered buying this film now.. .. so if you're really desperate to see it borrow it from a friend or rent it, you wont want to keep it in your DVD collection

Please dont make a 3rd hostel

Though they probably will i hope they dont make a 3rd hostel movie. this movie is ok only because of the nasty scnes but the storyline was, well there wasnt one. the scene towards the end will make every guy scream & jump out of their seats. maybes just worth renting this movie

OVER HYPED LAZY REMAKE OF ALREADY DISAPPOINTING FIRST FILM

| | See all WarpedJester's reviews (2)

Predictable and overhyped-
more of a let down than the first film- which with all the 'most shocking' & 'Goriest film you will see' hype- only let down true gore/horror fans.
This 'remake' of the first- (but the men now replaced with semi naked females)- starts with the routine cliche of young 'pretty people' having sex and drinking as if in yet another American Pie sequel! before being lured to the Hostel to be killed off by high bidding sicko's in boring and unoriginal ways.
It's obvious Eli roth is a horror fan- but i am saddened with his self censoring and lack of courage to really push the boundries of horror like he said he was going to in many interviews prior to making these films. Most of the deaths (few!) are not really seen - and please don't say 'it's scarier when it's left up to your imagination!! this wasn't supposed to be the intension if what he said in interiews is correct.' - Eli claimed it was going to 'all be there for all to see- if they dare' - Sadly what arrived was yet another pale SAW rip off- hyped up by big name producers (Tarantino) putting a name to the film. If you want films that dare to push the boundries - we will have to stick to the lower budget undergound indie films- such as Murder-Set-Pieces (uncut) & the August Underground trilogy-
Sadly these films are just a missed opportunity.

 Terrible
