Should be made part of the school caricullum. A refreshing and feel good film that teaches people anything is possible if you believe and work hard enough.

This true story of events at Long Beach High School during 1994-96 is exceptional in each and every way. Erin Gruwell's teaching and integration of different 'gangs' who hate each other-in and out the classroom- shows the power of friendship and education when applied with so much passion. Set in the aftermath of the infamous assault on Rodney King, and the race tensions between the Latinos, Blacks, Cambodians and others. An inspirational storty of perseverance and care, watch this and be prepared to have a lump in your throat, about to cry, like me. Stunning film.

This is the most amazing film I have seen. Everyone in my family has been drawn into loving it, my 60 year old day, my 40 year old mum, the teenager me and my 13 year old brother. No matter who watches this film they will be drawn into the story line and characters like a moth to a flame. This is sensational and a truely moving and admirational film. I adore it to pieces!

I went to see this at the pictures when it first came out, just expecting a Dangerous Minds rip-off. I was shocked and totally wrong, this film is really really good, and it doesnt even get THAT much credit. It sees the amazing Hilary Swank giving another top performance, a few funny gags but more importantly an amazing story and great acting by some uknown teenagers, which is unusual. All in all this film is definately now one of my favourites, also, I'm a fella and I ALMOST cried at the bit where that lad is giving the speech. NOT TO BE MISSED!!

When I wanted to buy a film on "On Demand" and saw this, I read the description and thought "BORING"! However, this film is now one of my all-time favourites, with some laughs, but also meaning! Absolutley amazing, but not if you do not understand "gangster" talk.

I have to be honest i was flicking through box office when i 1st came across this film; was fairly bored and it was the only thing that sounded half interesting.... well the next 1hr & 30mins was brilliant. Thoroughly good film, good acting and great story line.

This film is similar in story to dangerous minds, but the acting in this is far better, focusing more on the individual students interaction with each other and the lives they lead in long beach (Gang warfare) Not to be missed.

'' Freedom Writers'' may fail to attract your attention, due to the sole fact that its plot has been done many times before. But with the acting talent of Hilary Swank and the many other young hopefulls, it puts '' Freedom Writers '' at the top of its game. Every character brings their own realism into the story, dragging you through an emotional ride, and emphasise the word emotional. Anybody who is easy to cry is going to have a hard time sitting through this with a dry cheek. This has now become one of my favourite films, which is most sincerely an inspriational drama. One To Watch..!

This is one of the best films I have seen in ages, would recommend to anyone that likes an underdog story.

This film keeps your attention right from the start until the very end. For people who know me i am a very hard person and never cry easily. Until now... This film is a true story of one person who reached out and touched the hearts of these troubled students of room 203 and made them believe in themselves and each other. Not to be missed on any account. The acting from the students and Hilary Swank who, played the teacher was excellent. The best film i have seen in ages.
