Review

Stardust, based on the graphic novel by Neil Gaiman and Charles Vess, takes audiences on an adventure in an imaginary world.

A young man named Tristan tries to win the heart of Victoria, the beautiful but cold object of his desire, by going on a quest to retrieve a fallen star. His journey takes him to a mysterious and forbidden land beyond the walls of his village. On his odyssey, Tristan finds the star, which has transformed into a striking girl named Yvaine. However, Tristan is not the only one seeking the star. A king's four living sons - not to mention the ghosts of their three dead brothers - all need the star as they vie for the throne. Tristan must also overcome the evil witch, Lamia, who needs the star to make her young again. As Tristan battles to survive these threats, encountering a pirate named Captain Shakespeare and a shady trader named Ferdy the Fence along the way, his quest changes. He must now win the heart of the star for himself as he discovers the meaning of true love.

This is a movie that takes you away on a grand adventure, sweeping you off your feet with romance and action in the process. There are only a few movies that truly capture the essence of fantasy (Ladyhawke, Jason & The Argonauts, Clash Of The Titans to name but a few), but this movie manages to exceed all expectations of this genre. The perfomances from the cast are top notch especially Robert De Niro (check out his boat dance), and Michelle Pfeiffer, she plays her character with malice and humour. This is highly recommended, and is one of the highlights of last year. Watch it you will be thrilled!!!!

Probably the Best family fantasy film since Labrynth.
I can happily watch this again and again, and never get bored. A fantasic mix of new talent and suprising roles for some well known actors. I laughed I cried, I got completely carried away in the film. the 130Minutes You'll ever spend my only gripe is the one trick pony that is Ricky Gervais, but then you can't have everything A must see and own!
