When I first heard about a new Die Hard coming to our screens I had really mixed feelings about it. On one hand I couldnt contain my excitment as I grew up loving the series and Bruces character John McClane kicking some a*s and on the other I had a really bad feeling that it was just another sequel just being made to fill Hollywoods fat cats pockets one more time, as in my opinion 3 films in a franchise is far from enough.
But as soon as the first shot of McClane came up on the screen I knew he was back and ready for action.
Without going to much into the plot of the film,it runs along nicely and although they dont delve deep into the characters backgrounds, it aint that nessisery. All the classic action film elements are here big chases, big guns and a whole lot of big explosions, we even get the classic terrorists kidnaps heros daughter into the mix for good measure(Arnie anyone).
Some of the stunts are completely over the top so leave your common sense at the door but who cares when they look this great. You can really see how the budget was spent and spent well, alot of the film takes your breath away.(fighter jet sceen, amazing)
Overall a great return for the Die Hard series, just scrapes 4 stars from me but shows Brucie has still got it!
