Wuthering Heights is Emily Bronte's classic tale of all-consuming love. When Mr. Earnshaw encounters Heathcliff, a ragamuffin orphan, he kindly brings the boy into his home and makes him part of the family. And from the start, Heathcliff falls hopelessly in love with the daughter of the house, the beautiful, headstrong Catherine. She adores him, too, but when a wealthy neighbour woos her, Catherine's material instincts get the better of her, and she agrees to marry the man. However, Catherine discovers that she cannot forget Heathcliff so easily... and that not even death can make them part...

I brought this version because of the rave reviews it got, but upon seeing it I was seriously disappointed.
The film was true to the book but it lacked passion between the two main characters and I don't really believe Heathcliff's suffering really came across very well. I think this version of the film is best left for G.C.S.E students and is not suited for the more serious/mature reader.
Fabulous

Beautifully done. Thoroughly enjoyed this adaptation - very moving the scenic shots add to the drama and beauty of the story. You must watch!
A love story like no other!

All I can say is wow, this adaptation of Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights book is wonderfully re created.
After reading the book only a matter of days ago it is exactly how you would expect the caracters to be.
It is also lovely to see a good old British Yorkshire film, as they are few to none these days.
It is a must see for all :-)
