OK, But Not As Good As The Manga

I went out and bought the DVD boxset to this anime series a while back now after reading the manga to it and thoroughly enjoying that, but despite all I'd heard about this being really good and living up to the manga (which was written and released first and way before the anime series was even made), I found that it misses out a heck of a lot more detail, not to mention quite a lot of the storyline and a few characters that are featured in the manga but not the anime who are just as importent as much as the storyline itself...I wouldn't be surprised that fellow hardcore manga fans such as myself will agree on everything that I have just said in some ways, but all in all, it's not too bad a series all the same :)
The best

This was the first Anime series I watched and now i'm hooked!!! This was the best of the best Anime around, it's light and cheery with a little darkness at the end. I would definitely recommend this series...... If they brought out a second series I would definitely buy that too.
Fruits Basket is one of those anime that can be treasured for years to come thanks to a beautiful mix of delight and despair, an anime if pure entertainment but one with real feeling too. Although Tohru verges on being a very Mary Sue character, it works within the story and its surroundings. Yuki falls perfectly into the role of 'beautiful boy' and each other type of character you expect to be there is.
With a sweet storyline and an ending that leaves you to guess what happens next, Fruits Basket is a wonder to watch and one that can be seen over and over. A good anime for younger viewers, keeping anything un-PC subtle enough to only be understood by those who need to understand, but not filling the anime with it either.
