This is one of the best Doctor Who DVD releases to date, a fantastic features-packed two disc set. The story itself is excellent, Anthony Ainley is particularly superb in his final appearance as The Master and it is an exciting and epic end for the show. The extra's are truly outstanding, and are both entertaining & enlightening, you really get your money's worth on this one. I cannot recommend this DVD highly enough and of course it is a must have for fans old and new.

 Top Notch

This marks the end of the line for the classic series and this dvd set doesn't dissapoint , jam packed with whovian extras its a real treat for any whovian. The restoration team have done a great job in bringing all these interviews together and restoring the episode. The story isnt one of the strongest episodes of the series by far but rounded off the character of ace well. Antony Aisley as the master is brilliant and delt with a ropey script well. Sylvester was good in this episode not outstanding, in spite of this his ability to draw the audience into the story is exellent and this much darker dr is a better mark of what McCoy was trying to create gone were the days of the happiness patrol. Not a bad episode but not one of the best doctor who episodes. The dvd set has got loads or extras my personal favorite is cat flap a documentary of the episode its really informative and brings the set together well. The other extras include the little girl lost segment which outlines Ace as a character and Sophie Aldred highlights the key moments for her in the show. For a seasoned whovian things are slightly repetitive. All in all a exellent set and a must for all whovians. Thanks restoration team

an excellent end to the classic series. The decision to axe the series here with hindsight was a good idea as the break enabled it to come back fresher than ever, but looking at this story it is a shame that i twasn't allowed to continue from this point onwards. So much was promised that never got to be delievred.
An excellent and fine final performance from Ainley as the Master. All round very good.

 Fang-tastic!

A brilliant end to one of the best seasons of Doctor Who and a damn shame that the BBC pulled the plug for the next season with Sly in tremendous form as the marvellous Seventh Doctor. This story is brilliant from start to finish and the return and use of the Master is very well handled. The closing speech is spine tingling - brings tears to the eyes. Highly recommend this DVD!

 It didn't survive

Ironically there was no more serialised Dr Who after this for 16 years. The production team no longer believed in what they were doing. The cheetah people were clearly men in suits. The Master's inclusion seemed pointless. McCoy's shouting had already become tiresome. And Ace is massively overrated. She only seemed good because she came after Bonnie Langford and the only way was up. Ace is not a believable character. Streetwise kids of the 80s didn't parade around with rucksacks full of gelignite. A dull, poorly acted story.
