The Holiday (2006)

When my good lady, offers the words "shall we watch a movie tonight"? I think maybe a good thriller or a cracking drama, NO what was picked and what is always picked is a ROM-COM. It's always a ROM-COM. So this was last weekends movie. Well is was border line ok. The story was predictable, the acting was fine in some places and the outcome (well what a suprise not!). The film had a few funny moments not many. Not a completely dire move, but not fantastic. I enjoy a good rom-com (now and again, NOT always!) taking the likes of four weddings etc, but this was nowhere near that good.

The ultimate feel good film for anyone who needs a good pick me up. A true love story, how it should be. No violence or real nastiness just fantastic acting from all four main actors, makes you want to step into the television and join them.....truly utterly fantastic!!!!

i saw this today for the first time on sky and half way through i had to pause and get my laptop and come on here and buy it. I loved it. It is a typical girly chick flick movie where you know what is going to happen but that didn't bother me. I'm a little sad how it ends though because i would of loved to know how their relationships turned out past christmas and if Amanda went back to LA but it's still a good movie.

I never expected much from this film, but after watching, I thought it was brilliant. Very well acted, absolutely loved Kate Winslet. Recommended.

Get your favorite bottle of wine in, pop this DVD in your player, curl up and enjoy!! Simples!

I think this is a great romantic film and would recommend it to anyone. I think it has an extremely interesting storyline, and the choice of actors for the film are perfect! I love the fact it shows American actors falling in love with English actors. Perfect to watch with the girls!

I've realised that i seem to rate all the films as 5 stars but i guess im just a massive fan of films and this one is no dissapointment. A brilliant story line and cast.....a fun, lively, feel-good film. I'd imagine it wouldn't be everyones cup of tea but if you want a relaxing, easy film, give it a go and you'll probably be surprised :))

I love this film and must admit it have watched it a few times !
Jude Law pretending to be drunk needs a bit of work though ! Not his best bit of acting !.
This film is not to be taken too seriously but if you go along with it, it is enjoyable and easy viewing.

I don't really like rom-com's but this I though was really good. Not been done before so it is something new to watch and it works very well. The story is great and so is the acting....great all round enjoyable movie and the men should enjoy it too....(maybe)

The BEST romantic comedy ever!!!! Watch it!!!! I do it again and again all the time!!
