Taped live and in concert at Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. in August, 1983, Eddie Murphy: Delirious captures Eddie Murphy's wild and outrageous stand-up comedy act, which he performed in New York and eighteen other cities across the U.S. to standing-room-only audiences. Eddie's comedy was groundbreaking, completely new, razor sharp and definitely funny.

Eddie Murphy pontificates in his own vulgarly hilarious fashion on everything from bizarre sexual fantasies to reliving the family barbecue, and is peppered with Eddie's one-of-a-kind wit. Laugh along as Eddie reminiscences of hot childhood days and the ice cream man intermixed with classic vocal parodies of top American entertainers.

With this as one of his opening gags, relating to Mr T as a homosexual, you just know that the whole show is going to be a laugh a minute, and Murphy delivers with his raw, seat of your pants comedy.

Whether it's talking about family barbecues and cousins getting burned ("Now that's a Fire!"), the infamous ice-cream gag or G.I. Joe's venture into a deep dark cave, you will be in stitches all the way through this great comedy classic

A must for stand up fans!

If you have any interest in stand up comedy you need to see this. All modern stand up has some small root in this or Richie Pryor (RIP!)

even with the top 80's fashion this is the daddy and shaped a generation of comedy....shame he couldn't keep it up and let his lust for film fame get the better of him...wasted. get a glimpse of a genius at workin DELIRIOUS before it goes off line for another 20 yrs.

 Hilarious

I first watched this years ago when I was a kid and to this day I still think it's one of the funniest stand-ups I've ever seen.
If you enjoyed RAW then you'll love this as it's even funnier and if you're a fan of Richard Pryor then you'll be right inside your comedy comfort zone.
Eddie Murphy at his absolute best and a must see for all stand-up fans.

To see Murphy in his prime, makes you realize what a talented guy he is. Forget the likes of NORBIT and the other kid friendly efforts ( apart from Donkey ) This is pure Lightening in a bottle. Murphy talent is screen magic, with this brilliant stand up. From immitating women and family members. To doing the best Mr"T" and Stevie Wonder impressions ever. Also just watch out for the stories he tells about the family BBQ, his dad getting drunk, and G.I. Joe in the bath. Only once does he let his intelligence slip, and that the ill informed and ill advised AIDS gag ( but remember this was filmed in 1982 when the virus was still new ) This is a stand up classic, and it's easy to see why he shot to mega stardome. Buy this classic now, and remind yourself why Eddie Murphy should bring back his hard edge again.
