Jekyll: Series 1

This is the best i have seen on the BBC for a long time, Great performance by James Nesbitt. A must for DVD fans.

This series is extremely well made, James Nesbitt acts well in both roles and the direction is also well done, especially in the last few episodes. And you'll never see the twist at the end coming.

This series is awful, the main character is called Dr Jackman not Jekyll so they didn't even get that right. When the "transformation" occurs it's so cheap and nasty I'm surprised anyone really notices, what's up did the BBC use up all the FX budget on Dr Who? James Nesbitt simply brushes his hair back, pulls funny faces and overacts. And we are supposed to believe that his own wife and kids no longer recognise him, it's ridiculous.

Then we have the hammy "American" secret agent/whatever who can't do an American accent and the ever so professional assisitant who falls in love with Dr Jackman after a week.

This is so bad it's like a car crash, you don't know why but you can't turn away from it no matter how much you want to.

Save your money and buy something else instead.

Apart from the resurgent of Doctor Who, this has got to go down as one of the best tv series for saturday night television in recent years. Season one was incredible, James Nesbitt portrayl of the Jekyll and Hyde was just right, and the rest of the cast were fabulous too. Let's hope they don't lose the essence of what the series is all about, and go daft and stupid. Can't praise it enough!

Jekyl is a thrilling adaption to the Dr Jekyl and Mr Hyde story. It is both frightening and fascinating all in one and as always James Nesbitt's perforance is legendary!
