Having never seen the movie before getting this 2 disc set, I had no pre-conceptions about the movie. The teaser web site gave a very 'Kill Bill' feel to the movie but that would be to do it an injustice.
There is definately a 70's feel to this flick, which the extra's on disc 2 explain as being due in part to the low budget constraints employeed to get the movie made. 16mm film and older camera's actualy add to the charm and give life to a film that could easily have been lost to the 'also rans' of martial art/action cinema.
The Korean style of kicks coupled with their penchance for a longer take rather than the Hong Kong style of shorter editing and splicing to shoot the action all give subtlety that I would have missed without the feature's on disc 2. They compromise quite a technical set of extra's but if that is your bag, this will not dissapoint. I learnt about the art of action cinema film making and the attitude of the two directors, each with action cinema pedigree in their own right, that helps to permeate the finished product.
I shall be viewing the film again in the light of my new found knowledge and revel in the enjoyment it will bring. This is a perfect advert for the medium of DVD, its potential to enlighten and educate and lest we foget, entertain into the bargain!
Now one of my favourite films in my collection, I shall certainly look out for more from the charismatic lead duo and their associated projects.
Good artwork and an underpraised score are the only elements of the total package sadly under-represented on these 2 discs, but don't let that stop you making this your next DVD purchase.

well i have to say that i quite enjoyed this movie. the action and story are both fairly good although the action may be better than the story. i think this movie has the same director as another korean movie named Arahan which was very good. Arahan also starred the main character from this film, performing some great fight sequences. i would recomend this film to you if you like Korean movies and martial arts.
