Heroes: Season 1 - Complete Box Set (7 Discs)

To be honest, when i first started watching heroes i was expecting it to be quite action-centered. This isn't the case, however, i was drawn in by the sheer human-ness these characters portray.

Heroes poses an interesting question: what would the everyday population do if they discovered they have superpowers?

Most wouldn't put on spandex and fight crime under a secret identity - some would be scared, and hide their ability from others. Some would be excited, and embark on an adventure to try to save the world. Some would think this ability made them better and more important than the average man and would react accordingly...

Heroes is a rollercoaster ride filled with mystery. There's enough action involved in it (granted, quite a few episodes into the series) to quench most people's thirst, and there must be at least one character you can relate to:

Hiro, a japanese office worker who dreams of being a hero.
Peter, a NY nurse who feels he was meant for something more important.
Niki, a single mom who is struggling to provide for her son.
Claire, a texas cheerleader who thinks her father may not be the person she thought him to be.
Matt, a cop who has been directing traffic for a number of years, and who has problems with his wife at home.

In short, if you don't like heroes, seek professional help.

Packed full of twists, turns and surprises it keeps you on the edge of your seat all the way through. Some people may have a problem with the very American super hero storyline, but hey, nothing is perfect! The acting is superb, the story is nothing short of brilliant, and every other aspect is completely up to the best of Hollywood standards. The only way to view this series is back-to-back so you don't lose the tension and pace it develops.

Heroes is one of the best TV shows i have seen in a long time. The writing is superb and the actors are amazing. Each episode leaves you wanting more and more, even the season finale! I love the episode "Homecoming", it tied together the major storyline and had some really intense scenes in. SOOO much better than season 2, but that is pretty good too. Buy heroes, you wont be disappointed.

Heroes, the TV show that can go head to head to the budget of LOST and come out the winner.

The story chronicles the events of different people across the glode, discovering they have abilities different from other people, these include...Flying, Invisibility, Enhanced strengh, mind reading and so on.
Little do these people know that the actions they take from that point on will lead to an event so big it will change the entire planet and alter the future in ways they did'ent even imagine.

It's amazing how the writers have managed to create so many characters and dig deep into their souls and make them so real you spend alot of time beliving they are.

The budget for this season far exceeds that of any other television show in history even LOST who recently has 'lost' many of its fans to this fantastic show.
Also expect to see hours and hours of Bonus features AND commentries on each episode.

This is a series you will not want to miss ladies and gentleman because this is a show that will last many many years.

Heroes is an excellent TV show. Season One starts off brilliantly, with some episodes that are brilliant. Nearly every episode ends on a cliffhanger, which leaves you begging to see the next episode immediately. Thus on DVD is the best way to watch it.

That being said, Season One does run out of steam slightly. There is a definite drop in quality in the last four or five episodes, perhaps due to the creators trying to fit too much in. The last episode especially is a let down (apart from the very last scene of course). However, when it is at the top of its game there is no show as exciting or as exhilarating as Heroes. It is filled with great characters, especially Hiro, the true hero of the show! The creative minds behind Heroes also deserve great credit for bringing something new to the table. I would have given this a higher mark only for the fall off at the end of this first season. But it has great potential, especially as the show keeps shocking the viewers with more and more surprises. Bring on season two!
