This incredible first season of 'Dexter' stars Michael C Hall in the title role and how well he plays it.Dexter Morgan is a blood splatter analyst for the Miami Police Depertment however secretly at night he disposes of the cities worst criminals!The series combines sheer terror with dark humour and Hall's performance really conveys that.Unlike other tv shows this only has 13 episodes but with the way the story goes that is about right.The supporting cast are fantastic including Jennifer Carpenter as Dexters' foster sister Deborah,James Remar as his influenyial adoptive father Harry and Erik King arguably steals the show as Dexters' nemesis SGT Doakes. A truly great start to a fantastic show

This was reccomended by a friend of mine due to my love of the show csi, and i was not disappointed!
The story and actual theme of the show are very clever, dark and totally compelling. You just keep wanting to watch!
The acting is top notch, and lets you easily form bonds with the characters.
Definatly one to watch.

Dexter is possibly the greatest programme ive come to find on television, not only did the show itself take a hold on me, it introduced me to the books which are great aswell. Season 2 is so far outstanding, as soon as the uk release of season 1 is out im so buying it :)

I got into Dexter recently on the recommendation of a friend and am happy to say that it was well worth it. It is based around a crime scene investigator who has a dark personal life as a serial killer, however he uses his 'art' to balance the books of justice and only kills people if they deserve it.
Really refreshing show with a unique plot. It is coming out in the UK on FX Channel in July apparently so keep your eyes open and give it a try...

I envy those of you who are yet to embark on the thrilling story of everyone's favourite serial killer as you have so much to look forward to from this creative, bold and all-round brilliant drama, should you make this purchase.

If you are thinking about buying this for Christmas maybe, or just for yourself, then rest assured that your money will not go to waste on what critically could be the best TV shows of all time, definately in this generation.

Being an avid fan, I am currently watching the 5th season which is currently being aired in the states and it still doesn't fail to surprise or keep me totally captivated. The message here being, that this show just keeps delivering despite setting the benchmark high with this brilliant opening season.

Seasons 2 and 3 are also very good, but season 4 is incredible and starting this show with the incentive of getting to season 4 is well worth it. Season 5 has 3 episodes to go as I write, and it's looking like it could topple 4. What you will notice is that the character evolves and this is truly addictive to watch.

I cannot stress much more about how awesome this show is. I'm not one for gore and horror, I don't watch horror movies, but this is a very clever show which any intellectual will enjoy. It's not for the faint-hearted, it's a show for a mature audience, as most youngsters will not understand a lot of the meanings and plots in the show, let alone the swearing and violence. This is aired on Showtime in America which indicates it's nothing like some of the commercial garbage you may get with abc/fox productions. This is brilliant and deserves all its success.
