I'm always trying to look for a new - clever - series to watch. I heard that Dexter had some dark comedy and an intelegent script so i decided to give it a go. Before i watched it i decided to read the book which i found extremely addictive. I expected the series to lack the...whatever it was that the book had. Well it didin't! the series is astonishing! Some of the cruel dark jokes are actually laugh out loud funny which is surprising for the theme of the program.

Dexter himself is my least favourite character. The thing i like about the series is that it goes a bit off the storyline and focuses on people who really have no importance in the series and shows that they aren't just 2D shallow characters. I love how realistic it is when it has such a surreal story line.

i have to admit that the first episode was a little poor but now that i've finnished i can't find a way to recommend it enough! it's a good buy, however i do think the current price (around £30) is a little bit much. I got it elsewhere for £17.99

Dexter. He is a forensic blood splatter analyst for the Miami PD. He is a serial killer. And... he hates blood. Those three things somehow make the perfect TV show. It is entertaining all the way through, with lots of twists, turns and shockers - with some dark witty humour thrown in as well. This quickly became my favourite TV show, and im proud to say i own this box set.

probably one of the best and most original programme on for ages. the acting was great the plot was great the actors were great mainly Michael C. Hall. dont need to say much just look at all the other ratings

after I started watching series two on tv, I just had to get the first series on dvd. this programme is fantastic; dexter, the main character was orphaned and traumatised as a child, now he`s older and a murderer, but only goes after 'baddies', as he kills by the 'rules' of harry, his adoptive father; (who taught him how and who to murder).
dexter narrates the episodes, revealing his thoughts; he can`t 'feel', but knows how to pretend, in order to fit in.
this is well written and the acting is excellent. the sex scenes are okay but don`t last long; and (even though I usually hate the gory senes in stuff) I could`nt turn away from the bloody bits in this.
You must buy this, it will be money well spent.

Dexter is a series full of mischief, humour, scandal, suspense and blood... My friend suggested to me that I watch this and I was a bit dubious after watching the first episode, but Dexter does not disappoint. Great series for anyone who loves crime, blood, women and mind games!

I love it so much, everything about it and to be honest i really dont know why. Proberly because of just how brilliant it is and creative. I find it very original and i have found myself with goosebumps watching it, with all the twists in the magical narrative of Dexter.

I would recommend this series to anyone who loves gore and dark humour .. the series is fantasic and really does justice to the book which you don't find very often. Michael C Hall is just perfect as Dexter and I don't think anybody else could of played him, he was made for that role . I can't wait for season 2 and hope it is just as fantastically brilliant as season one! The book and the series are defiently worth watching!!!!!!!

Loved watching this series on FX and can't wait for the 2nd series. Brilliantly dark and twisted and definateley keeps you on the edge of your seat.

This was way too talked down by ITV, it's brilliant!!! Dexter is such an amazing character n so well acted by Michael C. Hall as an emotionally stinted serial killer forensic scientist. I don't care how much he kills, he is properly cool! Ooh, n the ice truck killer! I loved this series so much n I cannot wait til the nxt 1!!!

Loved every bit of this show. If u cant wait for season 2 to start on tv watch it on the internet. I watched season 2 already. It gets even better. Season 3 starts in september, cant wait.
