It's never too late to come home.
Jake (Danny Glover), a reclusive Vietnam War veteran, has lived in a cabin in the woods of the Pacific Northwest for 35 years, plagued with guilt over the loss of men under his command. His only interaction with other people is when he drives into town to sell firewood and buy supplies from Kate (Linda Hamilton). His life is changed when he is visited by Henry, an ex-platoon member (David Strathairn). Henry is dying of lung cancer caused by the exposure to Agent Orange, and asks Jake to care for his half-Vietnamese daughter Lenny.

a low budget movie with a big heart, this film is totally delightful often humerous with a underlying sadness.
'jake' ( danny glover ) lives as a partial recluse years on
from his years of service during the vietnam conflict.
his world is turned upside down when an old army buddy
leaves his daughter 'lenny' who is part vietnamese, 'henry'
the father suffering from lung cancer has left his daughter
with 'jake' knowing he'll not return.
'jake' has no idea how to look after a young child and seeks help from the local shop keeper 'kate'.
will 'lenny' melt 'jake's' determination to keep her at arm's length ?
do you know what, just take the chance and watch it, you
will not regret it, it is a good film.
well good
