Lt. Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) is the lone survivor when her crippled spaceship crash lands on Fiorina 161, a bleak wasteland inhabited by former inmates of the planet's maximum security prison. Ripley's fears that an Alien was aboard her craft are confirmed when the mutilated bodies of ex-cons begin to mount. Without weapons or modern technology of any kind, Ripley must lead the men into battle against the terrifying creature. And soon she discovers a horrifying fact about her link with the Alien, a realisation that may compel Ripley to try destroying not only the horrific creature, but herself as well.

Once viewed as a home-wrecker, this splendid DVD release enlightened fans to the hardship David Fincher suffered during the making of Alien 3, and therefore shone a more understanding light on it. The assembly cut, some 30 minutes extra in length, makes for a far more interesting and cohesive vision, and makes for a bittersweet triumph.
Well worth adding to your collection based purely on the incredible art direction and Elliot Goldenthal's haunting score!

The theratical cut is a mess of a film but with this new DVD they show the special edition with a new cut with 30 minutes of new footage is much better but the DVD also has great extras but David Fincher is on them but not new interviews just on the set footage and other people saying how hard it was for him which is a shame but this is the must have version of a flawed film
