Mel Gibson stars on both sides of the camera, playing the lead role plus directing and producing this brawling, richly detailed saga of fierce combat, tender love and the will to risk all that's precious: freedom. In an emotionally charged performance, Gibson is William Wallace, a bold Scotsman who used the steel of his blade and the fire of his intellect to rally his countrymen to liberation...

 Epic!

A truly and amazing epic film, although not 100% historically correct the patriotism of william wallace shines through . If i could take one film to the grave with me , it would be this ! Never gets boring

 Braveheart

This film is superb, it may not be historically accurate, yes the battle of Stirling bridge was not fought on a bridge in the film, and yes William Wallace did not get it on with the princess of Wales etc etc but who cares, it wouldn't have made as good of a film. It presents a heart-warming story of a man, riddled with pain and rage at the loss of his, father, brother and wife by the English occupants of Scotland and documents his fight to re-establish freedom to the people of his nation. I've seen this film more than 20 times and I've never felt that it dragged on at any stage, even though it's almost 3 hours long. If you're deliberating over whether you should but this or not, I recommend you do.... you will not be disappointed.

 Accent anyone?

It is an OK film. However, Mel Gibson was wrong, wrong, wrong for that role. He really can't do the accent.
It's also pretty inaccurate, but I know it's not a documentry.

***** Must have for DVD collectors *****

 Absolutely Amazing

I's it pretty much my favourite film of all time. It might not be exactly what happened, but as a film it is absoutely class. I can think of no other word than Amazing.
