'Reign Over Me' is a charming, emotionally engaging story of friendship and loss. I think the reviews for this movie say it all. Outstanding performances from Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle. Sandler proves to be outstanding in his serious roles, as we saw he played it superbly in ' Punch Drunk Love'. Although the concept of the movie is that of a man grieving for his family, the movie offers some comedic performances in their character's . Such as Sandler's character's personality, along with Cheadle's relationship with his wife. However, the movie does deliver some heart rending emotional moments. 'Reign Over Me' is gripping and a sad glimpse at grief and it's lasting effects on us when we truly lose something we cherish.

All I can say is that I could kick myself it has took me a year to watch this film. I'm a big fan of Adam Sandler, yet when I saw that this was a serious role I was a little unsure what it would be like. This man can really act! I can't believe how good this film is. It got me gripped right from the start, and leaves you really involved and worried about the welfare of Sandler's character, Charlie. It's really funny in places, touching in others and sometimes leaves you with a real lump in your throat! It's not all about Sandler though, Don Cheadle also plays a fantasic role and only adds to the character and emotion of the film. You have got to see this film as is took me completely by suprise and then blew me away. Great film.

This film approaches the 9/11 attacks through the eyes of a single individual's emotional and physical experiences. Adam Sandler, as rightly suggested by many other reviewers here, gives the performance of a lifetime here, as good as any best actor winner has performed, during his flawless 2 hours. The growing friendship between Alan Johnson (Don Cheadle) and Charlie Fineman (Sandler) is never exaggerated or made unrealistic, instead true and convincing all the way. The psychological issues faced by Fineman are staggeringly conveyed to the audience via the sheer acting talent of Adam Sandler, making the audience feel sorrow when he feels it, laugh when he creates comedy and a constant longing for him to be happy. This journey into Charlie's life is refreshing, not merely for himself, but for Alan Johnson himself, who comes to realise what's important in his life too, thus discovering himself through Charlie. The priceless humour in this film comes from one of Johnson's patients, and with an all star cast including the excellent Liv Tyler and even a good cameo from Donald Sutherland, Reign Over Me ranks as one of my favourite films of all time after witnessing this powerful movie.

I was sceptical at first, i was not convinced sandler could pull off a serious role but he put in a great performance. Its a well told story with great acting. Definately one to watch.

I watched this last night on Sky Movies and it was brilliant the story is excellent & the acting amazing, i can't find a bad thing about the movie i enjoyed it the whole way through, Adam Sandler is brilliant in this film. I never heard about this film until i saw it on Sky it was a brilliant watch. A must buy film for €8 you can't go wrong if u wanna buy a good film buy this. You won't regret it.

I really liked this film, when I first started watching it I didnt think I was going to as it was a bit slow to start. But once you get involved with the story and the characters you have to watch it all the way through. Adam Sandler is brilliant in this, having loved all of his comedy films I was looking forward to him trying something completely different to what he has done before and he really does pull it off. Don Cheadle is also really good in this.

Firstly I came across it by accident , read what it was about and bought it straight away. Very easy viewing ! Cheadle I thought kept it together without him it might not have worked so well. His portrayal as a loyal husband , good dad and caring human was very believable and I bought this for Sandler , who was good but not great!! He played the part well , but when it came to being upset he did not convince me totally , yet I did enjoy him losing it at cheadles dental practice worth watching for that alone! Money well spent ?Yes ! Dissapointed ? A little!!

Had never actually heard of this film until I came across it while browsing the Drama genre. Read some of the reviews and thought I'd risk parting with my fiver to get it. Well, what a fantastic decision!!! It ranks up there as one of my favourite films ever.

The chemistry between the characters is spot on. Cheadle and Sandler bounce of each other brilliantly. You are somehow taken into Sandler's world and are taken along with the ride. I'd say it's a must see film before you die!

I watched this movie last night and wow, was it good? It was amazing. I'm surprised it didnt get any major awards whatsoever. People say Sandler can only act in comedy roles this films shut up all critics who have ever said that. It had it's odd comedy moment but what film doesnt have abit of comedy in? Due to this film I now want a petrol scooter, I'm currently looking into how much they cost and what the laws are. The fact that it's only £5, has to be against nature...

Based on Adam Sandler being a comdian, he adapted to this amazing film and turned to be a really good actor on the non-comdian side of acting. 5 Stars for a amazing film and actor.
