She, the Ultimate Weapon is the story of Shuji and Chise, a couple of typical high school students living in a Hokkaido City, Japan at a time of war. As with most first romances, the pair must deal with peer group pressure, gossip, intense emotions, feelings of ambivalence and the fact that Chise is a secret military weapon capable of levelling a medium-sized city!

I thought this DVD would be interesting to see. I expected it to be an all out action animé but it turned out to be an Action, Romantic Epic. This brings out your own emotions to see it to the bitter end.

From the moments when Chise falls for a guy at her school.
But she holds a Bound secret. Away from her love Shuji.
And has to fight her emotions: her emotions to want to Love and to protect those who are innocent. And the Emotions that make her fight cannot be stopped.

But I won't give out any more of the story. You have to see what I mean by watching it.

I will be defiantly be watching this again. As it's a Heart warming Experience.

They should have made a Sequel to this. I'm not quite sure how the story would unfold from the Ending of Episode 13.

There are happy moments from within the episodes.

The whole idea of Shuji Thinking of Chise "being Cute but Slow, she's Little Timid, but on top of that really Clumsy" and the points where's she always says "I'm Sorry" and her Motto in life is "I want to be strong"

But he loves her for what she is. Whenever she does something wrong or says something that she shouldn't have.
He replies and strokes her head with "You dummy!"

Overall a 5 Star rating in my Opinion. As for the Packaging the discs. And the whole storyline. And detail put into this series. Plus the Ova's

It feels Weird having 2 discs per volume. As both discs in each volume have exactly the same episodes on them. Only difference is maybe the huge amounts of extras on each Disc. This makes me not mind having the episodes there on the extra discs.

As you get a lot of info back in the extras. Most of which are still in Japanese Audio, With English Subtitles.

It's taken me 2 days to watch She: The Ultimate Weapon, outside of when I'm not working. I can defiantly say its worth watching. And will be watching again and again.

So buy this Collection Rather than in Separate Volumes.
I'd love to see this Collection jump to UMD. As I would also buy it.

 A Bit "Hit-&-Miss"

Firstly, the two reviews below this one are on the right lines, but a tad negative. Yes there is a lot of crying, a lot of the time for no reason and the behaviour of the two principle characters is a little weird, even by japanese anime standards. However, it is a really cute series and i really enjoyed it. It could have been a lot better, but the final product is a good watch. The series focus is on the romance side and the ova kind of fills in the blanks. Its like watching the same movie from two different angles. Just watch the series first, or the ova really will make no sense.

All in all, a good watch but does have its flaws.

 Good despite some flaws

Although I did have a few problems with this series, they didn't stop me from enjoying it. Really the problems were just things I personally didn't like, but obviously I don't speak for everyone else so they might not matter to alot of people. Firstly the animation was a bit too cutesy for me, I prefer the animation in Hellsing and the like. But towards the end of this series it takes on a much darker tone, especially when you see how Chise transforms as she turns more and more into a weapon. Another thing I didn't like was that there was just so much crying in it. It got kind of old and tedious when I would see people crying every episode, especially when some of the time there didn't seem to be any real reason to. The OVA was good, offered some background info on a few characters, and some people may prefer the OVA as there is probably more action in it than the whole series. If I could of, I would give this 4 and a 1/2 stars, because, as I already said, the problems I had with the series didn't affect the overall quality that much. Although it is a sad story and what the characters go through is pretty horrible at times, I wasn't really affected by it too much. I've seen other anime that have had more of an impact on me. Still, a pretty decent anime, would recommend mainly to the emotional anime fans so you can have a good weep!

Well MR sal under me, is just like me, (if only I had seen his review) when I got this I thought the idea was a good one and it should have been the bit of action I was looking for, however though there was some action, this mostly is about a young couple in a war.
But this would not be a problem, was it not for the fact it was done badly, the characters are so annoying, wimpy, stupid and seem to be crying every 5 minutes. Now I understand they need to show emotion, but when I feel that I am watching a cross between a bad teenage soap and a really bad FanFick, I know something is wrong

Also this trying to show peoples ideas of Love, and how its survives in war, which again could have been good, where it not for, the fact again it was done so annoyingly and badly, I mean I shouldn't be happy that a character has just died in an air-raid. Now I know I am not most lovely person and realise it is from japan, but this was just stupidly over the top, when to really show its point, it would have been better to do it in tones of emotion.

However like I said even though it is not action, its idea could have been a good one, sadly it just wasn't

Though it does have a saving grace and that is the Movie, this is far more how the program should have been done and I would buy this. Basically it gets rid of the problems,

series=2 star

movie=4 star

As an idea it is a great one as for watching it, well personally I found it slow and dissapointing. As a title of She, i figured hmm is this for me but the Ultimate weapon swung it for me, the only thing that is truly ultimate is the yawn factor of an idiotic school kid who is smitten by a girl who is the ultimate weapon, however the redeeming quality of this set is the film another love song, this has a much more intresting storyline and characters but it would, sadly, be confusing without watching the series first.

Overall it looks good and despite my dissapointment it is not a bad series, worth watching at least once. A must if you like anime drama's with a little action thrown in.
