Transformers: The Classic Episodes

Dissapointingly, this Classic episode DVD does not contain the original TV pilot. The Episode where we see the Autobots and decepticons living on cybertron. Where they have battle and leave, before crash landing on Earth. Where the decepticons destroy a damn then the air force base and optimus prime couldn't transform as he was smashed by rocks. This is what I always remembered as a child but its not here.

Thats said, as a TV cartoon, it is action packed and every episode contains loads of battles, fantastic sound effects and brilliant cer,cer,cer chunk transforming. And here is 3 hours of epiosdes. 10 epsiodes of metal mayhem (or Bayhem)

Megatron is a fantastic megolamanic bad guy, voiced to perfection and sounding evil with every breath, starscream brilliant as the one who wants to be the decepticon leader and the autobots, 'blast em till ther nothing' are all good. My favourite though is sound wave, with his 3 tape deck transformers in his chest.

The theme tune is here, the great music and each 20 minute episode probably has 10 minutes of fighting and blasting.

This is the epitomy of 1980's cheapo cartoon making. Awful animation (started bad and got worse), zero continuity checking, simplistic narratives, (that were insulting even back then), music that was lifted from other cartoons from marvel/sunbow productions. If you're on a real nostalgia trip then you will have the biggest reality check ever if you watch this.

Growing up with Transformers the big thing back in the 80's, it's great to see it all coming back again. This DVD is a must for those of you who remember the TF age as a kid. I don't understand people who mock these cartoons. They obviously never grew up with them. These cartoons are iconic classics!!!!!
