When Slade embarked upon their one and only movie in 1974, fans and critics alike were expecting something akin to a Glam rock update of The Beatles `A Hard Days Night, released a decade earlier. After all, in the dark days of a Britain beset by strikes, power cuts and a collective musical identity crisis, Slade were the ultimate good time band: irreverent, loud and armed with a terrific set of singalong stompers.

I don't think you have to be a Slade fan to appreciate this movie,it's not the most powefull rock movie around ,but it is special ,as Noddy says in the featurette, this wasn't the story of Slade but, some Slade fans became confused,it is the story of 'Flame' ,their rise and fall and the dodgy world of unscrupulous managers who care only for making a fast buck and not the bands creativity,it's a compilation of things that happened to other bands but, the lads personality's shine through. This is a nice little package of DVD and soundtrack CD and one i am glad to own,i had not seen this movie for some years and songs like 'Far far away' and 'How does it feel' are just the icing on the cake.
Excellent
