After being recommended, I bought the DVD. If you find the plot of your average sci-fi video game scintillating you might enjoy this. Otherwise, I found the acting wooden and the plot full of mistakes and illogical behaviour. Even this genre needs to grant the viewer some intelligence. The fact that the theme was depressing is irrelevant to my rating. I can enjoy dark subjects too. It was the ridiculous way in which the characters behaved and the inane dialogue that diappointed me. I am so surpriesd that the "stars" could allow themselves to appear in this drivel. Michael Caine appears a few times and steals every scene he's in but it doesn't last. Julianne Moore is under-utilised.
It could have been so much better - what a wasted opportunity to explore a very interesting concept....
What a load of rubbish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had my doubts about Children of men,"im not a huge fan of Clive owen and even thou it got good reviews"i wasent sure about the clips id seen.To my suprise i found it to be extremely enjoyable, its a straight up Dark Forward moving Thriller/Drama with some supurbly executed Action scenes,i especially liked the Farmyard donhill Car wont start chase and the final scenes had a touch of Kubrick about them.I Changed my mind about Clive owen with this one too"he,s a good movie star.It was also good to see Sir Michael caine popping up in a good supporting role as an old Hippie.Good film Children of men"id recommend it,its got a nice price too.
